Software lead engineer

As Software lead engineer you lead and manage a group of professionals. You act as a solution provider by driving development of technical software for high-tech applications in your team. You achieve alignment on the contents and staffing of the activities within your scope. You take care that interaction and stakeholder management with diverse and relevant parties (e.g. development and customers) is in place. Together with our CTO, you set up the roadmap and strategic direction of our core applications.

Tasks
  • On the basis of the system requirements and functional specifications,  developing and drawing up software packages for new types of machines.
  • Shaping software topics with sales, development, procurement, production and our customer service organisation.
  • Cooperation on software level with our system architect to bridge the hardware to software.
  • Determine software deliverables and translate them into actions to be carried out to realise them.
  • Development of software team: procedures, working agreements (internal and external), best practices.
  • Monitoring and reporting on management aspects of quality, timeliness and budget.
Job requirements
  • HBO or higher working and thinking level, educated in a technical discipline (e.g. Industrial Automation, Technical Informatics or similar).
  • At least 5 years of experience with C++, C, C# and  .Net in the role of Software engineer / designer.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the role of Software Team Lead / ‘cooperating foreman’ for teams with more than 2 software engineers / designers.
  • You are able to balance architectural and business value and can actively promote reducing technical debt while delivering value

  • You work accurately, have effective communication skills and show ownership/commitment.
  • You are a team builder and bridge builder so that the various disciplines come together.
  • Proactive and flexible attitude.
  • Strong personality possesses persuasiveness and knows how to make connections. Can deal with resistance.
  • Working/thinking outside your comfort zone and field is not a problem.
  • We are an international team and work worldwide so fluency in English is a must.
